256 memory card why the display is 512?

Users questions: ATI's 2400PRO. HD. As mentioned above, I do see in the official data there is written 256 memory. But in my computer "DirectX Diagnostic" see above is the "estimated total memory 512MB". * Buy a new card, the new machine.
